ABOUT ECGIA
The East Coast Gang Investigators Association (ECGIA) was established in 1998 after an enormous outcry for information relating to the East Coast gang situation. The ECGIA. formed from a small group of dedicated Law Enforcement Officials that shared gang related information with one another on a regular basis. As the street gangs and their members grew, so did the networking between these Law Enforcement Officials and others. The need for assistance, training and networking, also grew as these gangs migrated into new communities. Currently the ECGIA has members from across the country and internationally, and we are continually growing. The ECGIA is a non-profit organization that continually strives to provide Law Enforcement Officials with the training and resources they need to stay at the forefront of the ever changing street gang trends and identifiers. The ECGIA and its members go beyond to serve and protect, by training and educating the parents, teachers, professionals, and youth of our communities, in street gang awareness and identification, this is what we the ECGIA, are all about.

The ECGIA would like to take this opportunity to thank our brothers and sisters from the California Gang Investigator's Association, National Drug Intelligence Center, the Oklahoma Gang Investigator's Association, Midwest Gang Investigator's Association, MARGIN, and the Middle Atlantic-Great Lakes Organized Crime Law Enforcement.  Without the assistance and support from these agencies, the ECGIA would not be in existence today.

PRESIDENTS MESSAGE

On behalf of the East Coast Gang Investigators Association, I welcome you to our webpage. Please take the opportunity to explore and take full advantage of the resources available to assist you in your pursuit of information related to criminal street gangs. Our association is committed to working within our communities to rid our society of the scourge of gangs.

The East Coast Gang Investigators Association (ECGIA) was stared in 1998 by a few dedicated Law Enforcement Professionals who saw the rise of gangs on the East Coast and decided to do something about it. Law Enforcement was working hard but something was missing, that something was a forum to share information on criminal street gangs. Their vision was an association of like-minded criminal justice professional working together across jurisdictions to tackle the problems of gangs. That vision has grown into one of the largest, most extensive, gang enforcement/education network in the United States. ECGIA has chapters in Delaware, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and the Carolinas.

The ECGIA most importantly acknowledges the necessity of involving the communities that we serve and protect in this fight. We are dedicated to working with community groups and enjoy many long-term relationships with both social, civic and faith-based organizations throughout our chapter regions. The ECGIA provides tailored gang training for parents, teachers, social workers and health care professionals. We are always looking to develop new partnerships with these organizations and encourage those who are interested to contact myself or someone in your region.

The ECGIA is a non-profit organization all of its board members are unpaid volunteers who are dedicated criminal justice professionals. We are dedicated to providing Law Enforcement with the most accurate gang intelligence and information possible; through meetings, members only forums, training opportunities and serving as advocates by suggesting anti-gang legislation in our respective chapter regions. Let me be clear that the number one goal of the ECGIA is protecting our communities, by eliminating criminal street gangs we do this by giving Law Enforcement the best intelligence on gangs available. Keeping the Men and Women in Blue Safe with Knowledge.

Thank you, for your interest in the ECGIA and I encourage you to call upon us for any assistance we can offer. STAY SAFE!
