The mission of the E.C.G.I.A. is to respond to the proliferation of gangs in our society, and to assist in their exposure and efficient eradication. The E.C.G.I.A. aims to increase the awareness of gangs in our society, and to assist law enforcement and related agencies in a cooperative effort to combat the gang activity. The E.C.G.I.A. is committed to providing valuable and current information, and establishing a network between the E.C.G.I.A. membership, fellow associations, and law enforcement agencies.

	In line with our mission, the ECGIA award was created in 2007 to recognize the overall activities and achievements of criminal justice professionals in the field of criminal street gangs. The award's qualifications include, but are not limited to; effort, innovative service to the community, enforcement actions, intelligence gathering and/or dissemination, gang prevention, gang training, efficiency, and results.

At this time, the ECGIA is in the process of creating a new updated poster on gang awareness for distribution to law enforcement agencies. Due to overwhelming requests the old posters are out of stock. Please watch our website for when this new poster becomes available and contact us again.
