EAST COAST GANG INVESTIGATOR'S ASSOCIATION AWARD 2007

The mission of the East Coast Gang Investigators Association is to respond to the proliferation of gangs in our society, and to assist in their exposure and efficient eradication. The East Coast Gang Investigators Association aims to increase the awareness of gangs in our society, and to assist law enforcement and related agencies in a cooperative effort to combat the gang activity.

In line with our mission, the ECGIA award was created in 2007 to recognize the overall activities and achievements of criminal justice professionals in the field of criminal street gangs.  The award's qualifications include, but are not limited to; effort, innovative service to the community, enforcement actions, intelligence gathering/dissemination, gang prevention, gang training, efficiency, and results.

The Annual ECGIA Awards Program was created to provide an opportunity for individual officers, departments, units, or criminal justice professionals, to be given their deserved recognition.  The ECGIA award has been developed to honor the outstanding accomplishments of law enforcement and/or corrections officers, departments, units, and criminal justice professionals for their efforts in the fight against the proliferation of criminal street gangs.

The ECGIA Awards and Commendations Committee reviews each nomination and selects the officer, department, unit, or criminal justice professional that most exemplifies the criteria of award.

  • Awards are presented at the Annual East Coast Gang Investigators Conference.
  • All awards nominations must be submitted to ECGIA by September 1 of the respective calendar year.
